Local childcare centres are a fantastic place to connect with parents and like-minded people who want to make a difference. Simply bring in a plastic collection box and ask the centre’s management to promote book donations from families. Then, pop back in 2–3 weeks to pick up the books! The best part? Every suburb has multiple childcare centres nearby—so once you’ve collected from one, you can easily move on to the next.
Do you have a school-aged child who would like to help other children? Maybe they could ask their class- mates to contriubte The PNG Mums Preschool Project! Check out what happened when 9-year old Anabel made a powerpoint and presented it to her primary school class. The results were incredible!
Did you know? Local primary school libraries cull their books all the time! They throw out or give away tonnes of books every year to keep stock updated. So why not help them out? Your local school or public library may be an excellent resource for used kids books. Check out this video for more info:
